What I am still learning about the web

The new assignment for my Human Computer Interaction module has been issued. When I first read the outline I was struggling with the whole use of new technologies part, but have found an area I think will be good to research. Have any of you been to Argos lately (or anytime the shop has been open come to think of it). The scramble for catalogues the constant turning of pages not sure if you have missed what you were looking for.

I have an idea and its by no means new, What about a centralised database that has local nodes, with the capability of accessing the database when required, or even downloading a copy of the catalogue part of the database to a local server. Having touch screen terminals available in store for customer use. To top it all off self service tills that are not just for credit cards (as they are now) but as in the supermarkets for cash as well.

Now does that not sound better, I believe it does and intend to use this as the basis for the entire project.
